I can consider downtown Denver to be a playground for rich textures, colors and vibrant environments. Despite freezing cold temperatures the Schmidt family and I we were able to have a blast adventuring around downtown to capture all these fun backdrops. The family was great to work with and they were up for anything and shows in how great the session turned out!

Mark & Nikki live in a condo near Confluence Park and it was only fitting that we capture their engagement photos right in their backyard, literally. It was a beautiful Saturday morning and the light was perfect for an urban safari. It truly is a treat to be able to show a side of Denver that mostly goes unseen. I'm constantly exploring alley ways, the back side of buidlings and areas that most people pass right by. This is how I'm able to find such cool backgrounds.

The early bird truly gets the worm when you shoot right after sunrise! It also helped that The Gibbins family absolutely nailed their wardrobe for a shoot in a field at Chataqua Park outside of Boulder for this session. I shot with the sun behind them and let the light leak into my lens just a touch to achieve the angelic glow coming across in the images. You can truly feel the love this family has for each other in this set of portraits. I was so honored to capture their hearts in action.

Erin & Adam met at the Denver Beer company and asked if we could shoot their engagement photos in the brewery and at Red Rocks which is right near their new home. We got so many great images at both locations it was hard to pick just 8 to showcase here. The two were a blast to work with and I'm excited for them to get to share their lives together. The Denver Beer Company was great and even allowed us in to shoot before they opened to the public.

Since living just outside of Boulder this past year I have been falling more and more in love with the Flatirons mountain range. Chataqua Park is becoming one of my favorite spots to capture family portraits. It seems to work anytime of the year. My explorative nature goes into overdrive when I'm there allowing to find something new everytime I shoot there. I felt honored to get to introduce the Earheart family, recent transplants from California, to the majesty of Bouder County!

Years back I was fortunate enough to capture Dawn and Ray Johnson's wedding. Since then we've become great friends and I've had the opportunity to shoot their family photos every year since. I couldn't have been happier with how this year's photos came out. They truly have a beautiful family and some precious little munchikins that were a joy to work with.
